Your store is up. Can customers still pay?
Plugin and WooCommerce updates break checkouts without taking the site down, so nothing warns you while sales stop. Aftercheck tests your store like a real shopper after every update, and a WooCommerce developer fixes what breaks.
Free. About a minute. No sign-up, no plugin, no orders placed.

Updates rarely take a store down. They quietly break the checkout.
What an uptime monitor sees
- The home page answers in 0.4 seconds.
- The server says everything is fine.
- Status: up. No alert is sent.
What your customer sees
- The card field never loads after a payment plugin update.
- The Place order button does nothing.
- They leave, and nobody tells you.
Most stores find out days later, from an angry email or a dip in sales. Aftercheck tests the way a customer buys, minutes after every change.
What does a broken checkout cost you?
Use your own numbers. Every online sale is lost until someone notices.
Sales lost before anyone notices
$1,000
One unnoticed break costs as much as 6 months of Store Care at $149.
Assumes orders arrive evenly through a 30-day month and a broken checkout stops online orders. It leaves out customers who never come back.
How monitoring works
Step 1
The plugin notices the change
A small plugin records every plugin, theme, WooCommerce, WordPress and PHP update, and keeps count of failed payments and errors. It adds nothing to your storefront.
Step 2
Aftercheck shops your store
Minutes after a change, and on a schedule, it puts a hidden test product in the cart and places a test order, through WooCommerce and in a real browser. No real charge, and the test order is deleted within 10 minutes.
Step 3
A developer fixes it and checks again
A failure is checked twice before anyone is alerted. Then a WooCommerce developer fixes it or rolls the update back, and the problem is closed only when the same tests pass.
In a minute, a clear answer
The free scan visits your store like a shopper and gives one result: Healthy, Warning, Critical or Inconclusive, with the biggest problems in plain words.
What the scan checks
- Your home page, shop and a product open without errors
- A product goes into the cart, choosing a size or colour when it has them
- The cart and checkout open and offer a way to pay
- The same checkout works on a phone-sized screen
- Your security certificate is valid and http:// sends visitors to https://
- How fast pages show, and whether search engines can find your store
- Whether your WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP are out of date

Warning
A visitor could reach checkout, but the scan found problems worth fixing.
On phones, the checkout showed no payment options.
On a computer screen the checkout showed payment options; on a phone-sized screen it showed none.
Some parts of the store may not work for visitors.
3 script errors on the checkout page.
- Home, shop and product pages
- Opened
- Add to cart
- Added "Linen apron" (Colour: Sage)
- Payment options at checkout
- 2 shown (block checkout)
- Checkout on a phone
- No payment options shown
For agencies: hear about it before your client does
You update dozens of stores. When one checkout breaks after an update, the client usually finds out first, and the agency takes the blame. Aftercheck checks every store after every update and tells your team, not your client.

Built so a test can never cost you a sale
No real charges.
Test orders use a hidden test product and a test payment method that only works with a single-use token from Aftercheck.
Nothing reaches your customers or your books.
Emails and webhooks about test orders are held back, and test orders are deleted within 10 minutes. A safety sweep removes any that remain.
No customer data leaves your store.
The plugin sends versions, setting names, counts and error messages from your store's logs. Never customer names, emails, addresses, order contents or card details.
Nothing added to your storefront.
The plugin loads no scripts or styles for shoppers, so it cannot slow pages down.
Every message is signed.
Requests between your store and Aftercheck carry a signature from your store's own secret and expire after 5 minutes.
Your store's last item stays for a customer.
The free scan never fills in payment details, never places an order and never takes the last piece of anything.
Questions
How is this different from uptime monitoring?
An uptime monitor checks that a page answers. A store can answer perfectly while its card field never loads or its Place order button does nothing. Aftercheck goes through the cart and checkout the way a customer does, right after each change.
Do I need to install anything for the free scan?
No. The scan visits your store from the outside, the way a shopper would. The plugin is only for monitoring with Store Care or Agency.
Will testing place real orders or charge real cards?
No. Monitoring places test orders for a hidden test product with a test payment method, and deletes them within minutes. The free scan never places an order at all.
What happens when something breaks?
The failing test runs once more to be sure. Then you get a plain email saying what is affected, and a WooCommerce developer starts on it: within 4 working hours for a problem that stops sales. Working hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm Eastern Time.
Do you need access to my store?
Not for the free scan. For monitoring, you install the plugin and give us one administrator account with two-step sign-in, which we keep in a password manager. We check that you have a recent backup before we change anything.
Which stores is Aftercheck for?
WooCommerce stores that sell every day, especially ones with custom payment, shipping or checkout plugins, and the agencies that look after them. It is not for Shopify or other platforms.
What does the free scan not see?
Real payments going through, errors on the server, order emails, and what happens after your next update. Those need the plugin, which is what monitoring adds.
Can I stop your scanner from visiting my store?
Yes. Add two lines to your robots.txt and it will not scan your store. Our scanner page shows how. About our scanner.
Who is behind Aftercheck?
Aftercheck is built and run by Shapesoft, a software company in Toronto and part of MB Group.
See your store the way your customers do.
