Terms of service

Aftercheck is a service of Shapesoft, part of MB Group (Mansoor Brothers Enterprises Inc.), Suite 104, 100 Dynamic Drive, Toronto, ON M1V 5C4, Canada (“we”, “us”). “You” means the person or business using Aftercheck. By using the website, the scan or the plugin, or by starting a paid plan, you agree to these terms.

The scan visits a store's public pages the way one shopper would: it opens a few pages, puts one product in the cart and opens the checkout. It never fills in payment details, never places an order and never takes the last piece of anything. It follows the rules a store sets for our scanner in its robots.txt (about our scanner).

• Use the scan fairly: no automated or bulk scanning, no attempts to get around its limits, and no use that could harm a store.
• A scan is an outside view of one moment. It can miss problems or report ones that a store has already fixed, and it is not a promise that a store works.
• Anyone who has a result's link can open it for 30 days. Share it only with people you want to see it.

A Store Care or Agency plan starts when you accept our written order or proposal and pay the first month. The order names the stores, the price and anything agreed that differs from these terms; where the two disagree, the order wins.

• Each plan includes the monitoring described on our plans section, a monthly report, and up to 2 hours of fixes per store per month. Time spent finding the cause counts toward those hours. Unused hours do not carry over.
• A covered fix is a failure Aftercheck detects on the checkout, cart, payments, order emails or scheduled jobs, including plugin conflicts and problems caused by updates.
• Plans do not include redesigns, new features, content edits, hosting or server problems outside WordPress, or work on services run by other companies. Extra work costs $50 an hour and is always quoted and approved in writing first.
• We respond within our working hours, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm Eastern Time: a Critical problem within 4 working hours, aiming to fix it or roll it back the same working day; a Warning within 1 business day, aiming to fix it within 3. These are response commitments, not a promise of a particular result.
• We do not host your store and do not promise that it stays online or never breaks.
• On the Agency plan, alerts and reports go to the agency, not to its clients, unless the agency asks otherwise. The agency is responsible for its own agreements with its clients.

With a paid plan, Aftercheck places test orders on your store to prove that customers can buy. They use a hidden test product and a test payment method that only works with a single-use token from Aftercheck. Test orders are never charged or shipped, the emails and webhooks they would trigger are held back, and they are deleted within minutes.

A system that reads your store's database directly, such as some accounting or stock tools, could still see a test order for a short time. Tell us about such systems so we can plan around them.

• You have the right to let us test and work on each store: you own it, or its owner has agreed in writing.
• Daily backups of each store, kept by you or your host. We check that a recent backup exists before we change anything, and we are not responsible for data that is lost when no backup exists.
• One administrator account for us on each store, with two-step sign-in. We keep its password in a password manager, never in Aftercheck's database.
• Telling us about changes that affect testing, such as a new payment method, a firewall or a planned migration.

The Aftercheck plugin is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. It does nothing until a store manager connects it with a code from us. You can disconnect it or delete it at any time; deleting it removes its settings, its data, the test product and the test payment method from your store. What it sends us is listed in our privacy policy.

• Plans are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, by invoice or payment link. There is no setup fee.
• Prices do not include sales taxes, which are added where the law requires.
• You can cancel any time before your next month starts. We do not refund a month that has started, and the service runs to its end.
• Pilot pricing applies only when we agree it in writing.
• We may change prices with 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next month after that.
• If an invoice is more than 14 days late, we may pause monitoring after telling you.

Do not use Aftercheck for anything illegal, to test or attack systems you have no right to test, or to try to get around its security. Do not sell scan results or reports as your own service unless you are on the Agency plan.

• We provide Aftercheck with reasonable skill and care. Apart from that, it is provided as it is, and no monitoring can catch every problem.
• We are not responsible for lost sales, lost profits, lost data or other indirect losses.
• Our total responsibility for all claims is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or 100 US dollars if you have not paid us anything.
• Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

We keep your store access, your data and what we learn about your business confidential, and use them only to provide Aftercheck to you.

You can stop at any time (see Fees and payment). We may end a plan with 30 days' notice, or at once if these terms are seriously broken or Aftercheck is being used to cause harm. When a plan ends, please delete the plugin; we delete the store's data as our privacy policy describes.

We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and paid clients get an email at least 30 days before an important change applies to them.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts in Toronto, Ontario.
